The answer is "12:3." The odds of it happening is 12 to 3.The is the measure of the likelihood that an event will occur.

To solve this problem you must apply the proccedire shown above:

 1. You have that the odds against an event E occurring are 12 to 3. Therefore, you have:

 total outcomes=12+3=15

  2. Then, you have that the probability 
of the event E occurring is:

 1-12/15=1/5

 The answer is: 1/5
