2x - 4y = 8   →   -4y = -2x + 8   →   y = [tex]\frac{1}{2} x[/tex] - 2

We know the slope (m) = 4, need to find y-intercept (b)

y = 4x + b

[tex]\frac{1}{2} x[/tex] - 2 = 4x + b

[tex]\frac{1}{2} (6)[/tex] - 2 = 4(6) + b

3 - 2  = 24 + b

1 = 24 + b

-23 = b

Equation: y = 4x - 23
