The area of large sail is 144 square feet

Solution:

The measure height of the large sail = 24 feet

The measure of base of the sail = 12 feet

We know that,

The sail of the sailboat is in the form of right angle triangle

The area of triangle is given as:

[tex]Area = \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height[/tex]

Substituting the values we get,

[tex]Area = \frac{1}{2} \times 12 \times 24\\\\Area = 6 \times 24\\\\Area = 144\ ft^2[/tex]

Thus the area of large sail is 144 square feet
