Equation/Question:

-2(x+1)+4x<-10 What’s the solution?

Answer/Way I did it:

1. Expand.

-2x-2+4x<-10

2. Simplify  -2x-2+4x to  2x-2.

2x-2<-10

3. Add 2 to both sides.

2x<-10+2

4. Simplify  -10+2 to −8.

2x<-8

5. Divide both sides by 2.

x<-8/2

6. Simplify  8/2 to  4.

x<−4
