The y-intercept is the value of y when x=0:
[tex]y=\frac{1}{3}(0)-6[/tex]
[tex]\rightarrow y=-6[/tex]

The x-intercept is the value of x when y=0:
[tex]0=\frac{1}{3}x-6[/tex]
[tex]\rightarrow\frac{1}{3}x=6[/tex]
[tex]\rightarrow x=18[/tex]
