The maximum pH an aqueous solution of 0.050 M Cu(NO3)2  is mathematically given as

pH=5.8

What is the maximum pH an aqueous solution of 0.050 M Cu(NO3)2 can be adjusted to before a precipitate of Cu(OH)2 will form?

Generally, the equation for the Chemical reaction  is mathematically given as

Cu(OH)2----><---Cu^2 +2OH-

Therefore

s^2=1.0*10^{-19}

s=3.16*10^{=9}

{OH-}=2s=6.3*10^10^{-19}

{H+}=10^{-14}/OH

{H+}=1.58*10^{-6}

In conclusion

pH=-log(1.58*10^{-6}

pH=5.8
