To solve;

we will use the formula;

[tex]A=a^2+2a\sqrt[]{\frac{a^2}{4}+h^2}[/tex]

where a is the base and h is the height

From the diagram, a = 4 and h=3

substituting into the formula;

[tex]A=4^2+2(4)\sqrt[]{\frac{4^2}{4}+3^2}[/tex]

[tex]A=16+8\sqrt[]{4+9}[/tex]

A= 16 + 8√13

A= 16 + 28.8444

A=44.844 units²
