So we know that the area of both rectangles is A=36 square inches and we want get 2 possible perimeters of both rectangles. To do that we need to choose the sides of the rectangles a and b for the first and c and d for the second. First: a*b=36 so a and be can be a=18 and b=2 so the perimeter P1 would be P1=2a + 2b= 40 inches. Second: c*d=36 so c and d can be c=9 and d=4 so P2=2c + 2d = 26 inches.
