In the poems “The Wanderer” and “The Seafarer”, some ideas about life and religion can be found. For example; it could be said that the world is difficult and unforgiving and people can only find peace in God and in death. Both poems make reference to Christianity and how men should avoid material wealth. On the other hand, it is mentioned that nothing can prevent people from illnesses, battle or old age.
